"The Dragon and the Doodle Bug" takes place a long time ago when dragons were the story tellers for Kings and Queens. Zed the Dragon was the best of all the dragon storytellers. He had a secret weapon—his best friend Dixie Doodle Bug. Dixie had a very special talent. She could draw anything on her magic pad and it would pop to life. Zed and Dixie were making a great living when A Not So Nice Queen wanted to see the bug Zed was telling about. Dixie drew it and POP! it was alive right there in the throne room. The Queen screamed, fainted and demanded the dragon and the doodle bug be sent to the dungeon. Instead Zed talked the Queen into letting them rid the kingdom of the monsters and villains. The Queen agreed. What did she have to lose? So off Zed and Dixie went to defeat a giant, a marching band of ant and a knight turned bad. Dixie’s ability to draw talented insects helps them at every turn. Calamity and humor saves the day for “The Dragon and the Doodle Bug" .
