The After School Puppet Center

Puppets are the perfect compliment to every after school program. Puppets are easy. Puppets are outrageously fun. Puppets almost always guarantee success with kids, parents and even the community.

In the Puppet Center students practice interrelated skills. They are encouraged to read, write, communicate, interact with peers, develop skills in art, math, music, language, history and problem solving.

Puppets give a real boost to positive self esteem and best of all, students truly enjoy themselves throughout the whole experience.

Younger students create improvisational scripts, ranging from fairy tales to personal stories. They learn how to problem solve, interact with others and develop beginning reading and writing skills.

Older students are just as excited and involved. They write scripts, build sets, props and puppets. They also learn basic communication skills, and across the curriculum knowledge. The Puppet Center is fun for all and educational to boot.

The Puppet Center was designed by Master Puppeteer and Storyteller, Markie Scholz and Dragons Are Too Seldom Puppet Productions. Markie has applied her 30 years puppetry experience along with her Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction to create this stand-alone Puppetry Center that will keep the kids entertained and learning for years and years.
