Plethora of Paint Recipes


Finger Paint
2 cups flour
4 cups cold water
dry tempera
dash of salt
Mix flour and water. Cook over low heat until thick. Cool. Add dash of salt and tempera. Store in covered jar in the refrigerator.



Kool Aid Finger Paint
2 cups flour
2 packs unsweetened Kool Aid
1/2 cup salt
3 cups boiling water
3 T oil
Mix flour, Kool Aid and salt. Add water and oil. Begin your master pieces.



Puffy Paint
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup water
liquid tempera paint
Mix the ingredients well. Pour into all of those empty, clean mustard squeeze bottles you have been wondering why you were saving. Mark colors on outside.



Powdered Milk Paint
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 cup water
powdered tempera
Mix powdered milk and water. Stir until powder dissolves. Use this mixture as the Mother mix. Make only enough daughter color mixes as you will use in one sitting. Keep the Mom mix capped in the refrigerator.


Please use these recipes responsibly. Many of them require using the stove. Some require using ingredients that might be dangerous if ingested in quantity. Parents or Caretakers supervise your children.
