References for Markie Scholz and Dragons Are Too Seldom Puppet Theatre I have had the pleasure of inviting Markie Scholz into three schools where I have been the building principal and I highly recommend her for a performance in your school. Markie does a wonderful job in using puppets to actively engage kids in her interactive performances. Kids get involved! Her shows center around the theme of making good decisions. Her work fits in very well with our curriculum in addressing issues of drugs, friendship, behavior and character. I have seen her work successfully with students pre-school through 5th grade, but I can easily see how she could be effective in working with older students. Markie is a talented artist and a good role model for children. I encourage you to look for ways to use her in your school. ~ SD Principal -Loved it! -Will implement - the puppets & other ideas shown -The day went by so quickly -My goal to increase knowledge about use of puppetry as part of programming was very, very well met -Best! I learned so much especially about puppets and how to handle them for the most effective results -Best! The kids were enthralled with her puppets and audience participation was very good. The puppet making workshop was fantastic! The kids were very eager to make their puppets and she was able to keep 100 kids listen and follow her directions! Markie provided lots of fun materials plus extra socks for the puppets. She was very accommodating with her schedule and kept everything going on time. ~SD Library Awesome show and fun workshop in which participants were able to express their individuality. ~SD Library Markie did a wonderful job! The students loved the show & she did a great job showing them the puppets & made it pertain to our curriculum. ~SD School What a wonderful production. Her puppets were just beautiful. She did such a great job of changing her voice for different characters. She got every child and adult involved in the story and helping with it. A very professional performance enjoyed by attendees very much. ~Arts Council Public Performance -I loved it. I love dragons, magic, fairy tales. -Would not have used puppets before.
